Interview: German website

Mims is a well known
and also quite famous team in the 24 hours ofthe
Nurburgring-Nordschleife. The sympathic team around the teamleader
Willie Moore has a succesful history the 24 hours of the
Nurburgring-Nordschleife. 2003 the team made a fantastic 9th overall
rank and 2004,under very hard racing conditions, a fantastic 15th place.
What means that they are the most succesful racing team from brittain in
the last two years.
Now, they are preparing their famous M3 GTR for the last session of
BFGLM, because they don't want to miss their chance to show the new
performance of their car.
Teamleader Willie Moore, who is really looking forward to this race,
told us, "We have updated the car to the latest specification supplied
by Flossmann, this update includes a new very wide rear wing and the
front wheel arches have the new open design, one other experimental item
will be used for the first time details of which are currently
confidential therfor we are unable to provide details at this time,
these have improved our times at Spa by 3.5 sec and Zolder by over
1.5sec, so we will wait in antisipation to see how it improves our times
at Nurburgring, weather may restrict these results at this time of the
year."
"We will come and make our customary last visit of the year to our
beloved Nurburgring, in some ways it is part preperation for next years
attempt for the 24hrs. The circuit is very complex and although we know
the circuit very well having finished in this years 24hr again in 15th
overall position, and top English Team for the 2nd year running. Also we
love to meet up again with all our friends at the Nurburgring, and catch
up with all the latest news."
On the other hand he could not forget some aspects of the last season of
Belcar, "Last week we had the last round of the Belcar Championship
which did not go well although we qualified 1st in class TB and 3rd
touring car overall. The race went badly, there was a crash on the start
line, which caused us some light damage to the front of the car,
fortunatly this was not to serious, and we quickly advanced to leading
Touring car after 30mins, all looked to be going to plan when the
propshaft broke. There goes another potential good result ! Its been a
feature of our season, we are either on the podium or we fail to finish.
Well we will see what the Nurburgring has to offer us, but for sure we
will be going for the podium, maybe luck will shine on us this time."
We liked to wish our best to Willie Moore and his team. Trough the last
year, they know the "special weather in the region of the Eifel, but
they are humurous, "We only hope that the snow chains will not be
required."
